Motiti Island

Our adventure starts from Papamoa Beach approximately 20kms from Tauranga. Requiring a beach launch this tour is reliant on surf conditions and is suitable for the more experienced adventurer.

The first leg of our journey is an approximate 10km ocean paddle to the island.  Offering the chance to see dolphins, penguins and other marine animals the paddle heightens your anticipation for what you may see next.

On our arrival on the island we will beach on one of the several wonderful beaches. Ideal for swimming diving, fishing,  and snorkeling. Walks around the island will reveal a rich Maori heritage in the form of pa (fort) sites and food pits. You have an option to explore the rocky coastline of the island offering rocky outcrops, it even has its own hole in the rock.



We offer an alternative where we can take you to the island by boat and on our arrival you have the option of kayaking, diving, swimming, fishing and even clay bird shooting.  Our boat sleeps up to 10 so it is and ideal for an overnight trip.  For larger groups we can arrange accommodation at the lodge on Motiti.
